Mission Statement and Committee Structure

Mission: To encourage neighborhood participation and a sense of community, the Social Committee will plan, organize and guide a number of social events throughout the year.  This sense of community results in more owner participation in all events, helping to hold down costs and enhance property values.

The Social Committee is:  Lynn Clasen, Diane Herndon, Tina Philipak; Board Sponsor: Diane Raab

Duties and Responsibilities

There are both regularly scheduled social events and informal events.  At present, annually scheduled events include:

 
  • Chili Supper for lot owners and artists of an Augusta Chamber of Commerce, Plein Air event at Augusta Shores.  (April)
  • Augusta Shores Owners Association – Annual Picnic, held in conjunction with our Annual Meeting.  (June)
  • Christmas/Holiday party.  (December)
  •  

    The committee may also help plan other social events at the discretion of the current Social Committee and/or the ASOA Board of Directors, such as Kids’ Fishing Day (Spring) and Adults’ Fishing Day (Fall).

    The committee will help coordinate purchase of supplies, such as soda, paper plates, napkins, etc., for the other committee-sponsored activities.

    The committee will send a welcome letter and/or a welcome basket to new residents/Lot Owners, as appropriate.  Names will be supplied monthly by the Treasurer.  

    The committee will prepare an annual budget request and submit it to the ASOA Board of Directors at the July ASOA Board of Directors meeting each year.
