It applies the same limits as the Building Rules to almost all Commercial Noise Generating activity - the rule only applies to commercial activity – an individual homeowner can work when they want, but please be conscious of being a good neighbor. Read the rule by clicking here, and it will be filed on the Documents page of this website. (posted 6/22/2020)

dia_red.gif Hickory Lake Spillway: On August 26, 2019 we had an extreme amount of rainfall. From several data sources, it was up to 7 inches – all in less than 3 hours! Such a large amount of rain in such a short amount of time exceeded the design capacity of the spillway on Hickory Lake. The excess water caused a significant erosion problem on the downstream end of the spillway.

We’ve already put together an urgent action team and have met with Bax Consulting, who was the consultant on the plans when we rebuilt the spillway in 2013.

The water level is already down to a semi-normal level, so there is nothing else we need to do at the moment. We will be lowering it further for construction. From Ken Daming, Board President. (posted 09/17/2019)

Lakes Committee

The Fall Fishing Tournament has been cancelled due to the low water levels on Hickory Lake. We have rescinded the warning posted earlier for the toxic algae (blue-green algae) as it has not been seen for over two weeks. Please alert your board members if you see it.

The Lakes Committee has a number of projects planned for the Augusta Shores Fall Beautification day that is scheduled for October 19th. If you would like to help plan to be at the Berg House at 8:00 AM. We will need a few chain saws, weed trimmers and rakes as we plan to remove the cattails at the twin pipes and clear brush from the base of the three dams. Thanks, Lowell (posted 09/16/2019)
